Vintage Report
2020 was an excellent vintage for Tuscany, rated 93 points by Robert Parker. The conditions were very favorable, resulting in high-quality wines.
The clay-rich soil, combined with Tuscany's temperate microclimate, creates an unprecedented fruitiness in this red wine. Among the grape varieties that thrive here are Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. This blend is composed of a beautiful, fruity melange. It's a youthful wine with an intensely fruity flavor.
Excellent soil structure for Toscana Red
The Banfi estate is located between the Orcia and Ombrone rivers on the southern slopes of Montalcino in Tuscany. The wines in its extensive range are all produced with grapes selected from specific Banfi vineyards. The family-run business was founded in 1978 by two brothers with the philosophy of combining tradition with innovation. They are considered pioneers in raising the standards of Italian winemaking. Castello Banfi owns hundreds of hectares of vineyards across dozens of different soil types. The estate is renowned for its clonal research, which allows noble grape varieties to thrive in their optimal terroir. The Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot vines grow in sandy, chalky, and rocky vineyards. After careful harvesting, a short maceration period follows in the winery. After alcoholic and malolactic fermentation is complete, the wine is aged for another four to six months in small oak barrels. Finally, it is bottled for a few more months after bottling. The aroma and taste of Banfi Centine Toscana Red
Banfi's ruby-red Toscana wine perfectly combines the Tuscan character of the Sangiovese grape with the international flavors of the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. This red wine is incredibly fragrant with abundant dark fruit and floral nuances. It's medium-bodied with flavors of black cherry, plum, and hints of spice. It pairs beautifully with game dishes, pasta, or a cheese board.Product details
