The 2019 Bordeaux vintage has been rated as an outstanding year with a top score of 96 points. The wines are of excellent quality, but may currently still be youthful and rich in tannins.

Clarendelle wines are made with the great men of Château Haut Brion, as is evident on the beautiful label of this Medoc. Clarence Dillon Wines manages the production and marketing of Clarendelle wines. The name is inspired by Clarence Dillon and has been given the mission to continue the legacy of perfection that this great man left to his family. Well, he's succeeded admirably, and the old vineyards in the Medoc are now producing a superb harvest. However, this doesn't happen automatically; careful attention in the vineyards is essential to allow the grapes to shine. Well, leave that to Clarence Dillon; he knows better than anyone how to bring that beautiful refinement to all his wines.

Clarendelle's old vineyard is now producing a large harvest that is renowned throughout the region for its excellence. At ideal ripeness, they are harvested entirely by hand and subject to rigorous selection. Only the finest bunches are allowed to go to the press, a fact that is clearly reflected in the classic Medoc style. After harvest, this Clarendelle Medoc is aged for an impressive 18 to 24 months in oak barrels. Some of these are even unused and new, which lends the wine deeper aromas and flavors.

This Clarendelle Medoc boasts a beautiful, stately bottle, which promises something. The aroma offers a broad bouquet of impressions, with the blackcurrant fruit prominently displayed. Swirl your glass well to release all the beautiful aromas; we noted plums, cocoa, cedarwood, vanilla, and a touch of spice. The taste is what you'd expect from a top Medoc: abundant richness and softness with just the right amount of tannins. The rich flavor also reveals hints of blackberry and berry, along with refined notes of vanilla, licorice, toasted wood, and spice.
