The 2023 vintage in the Languedoc has been rated 94 points by Robert Parker, indicating an excellent vintage. The wines from this year show exceptionally high quality and beautiful aging potential.

This beautiful red wine is made from very old vines, hence the name "Vieilles Vignes" on the label. This indicates the vigorous vines on which the Carignan grows. Nestled in the heart of the Pays d'Hérault wine region, the Palombe vineyards enjoy a perfect climate. The abundant sunshine in the South of France gives the Carignan grapes a tremendous amount of strength. They absorb plenty of nutrients from the rich soil, resulting in a smooth, yet very smooth, red wine.

When the Carignan grapes reach their ideal ripeness, which is usually in late September, they are harvested under the supervision of Palombe's winemaker. The process begins early in the morning to minimize damage to the grapes during harvesting. Upon arrival at Palombe, the bunches are inspected and any unusable ones are removed. This results in a pure and exceptionally clean wine. After pressing, the entire wine is aged for several months in Palombe's cellars. The result is exquisite, juicy, and quite full-bodied, with all the wonderful qualities of the Carignan grape.

What does the red Palombe Carignan taste like?

A fruity, accessible red wine with abundant hints of black fruit and light cherry. It has a beautifully refined flavor with a soft finish. This Palombe Carignan has a ruby red color and a delightful bouquet of flowers and small red fruit. The Carignan varietal provides aromas of cherries and a round, smooth taste. Palombe red wine is a popular house wine, and it's no wonder, given its exquisite quality!
