Long-term wood aging for Albert Bichot Chassagne Montrachet

In 1831, Bernard Bichot founded the Albert Bichot winery in France's Burgundy region. The winery has become one of the region's most prominent and renowned. Today, the estate is managed by the sixth generation of the Bichot family and is known for its sustainable vineyard practices. With no fewer than 107 hectares of vineyards, including some of the region's most prestigious vineyards, the winery produces a wide range of wines, from fresh and fruity whites to rich and powerful reds. Each uniquely reflects the region. The Chardonnay grapes for Chassagne Montrachet are grown in soils of sand, marl, and clay. This allows the grapes to develop unique characteristics. After the grapes are carefully harvested, they are fermented in oak barrels. This process takes several weeks and contributes to the complexity of the final wine. The wine is then aged for another 14 to 16 months in new oak barrels. This process develops beautiful aromas and refined flavors.

The smell and taste of Albert Bichot Chassagne Montrachet

The aroma reveals a delightful floral bouquet with fresh lemon notes. These aromas are complemented by herbal and hazelnut notes. On the palate, it's a bold yet elegant wine. The flavor is beautifully balanced with fruity notes and a pleasant acidity. This white wine is delicious on its own, but also pairs beautifully with light dishes or a cheese board.
