Unique blend wines from Calusari
Philip Cox and his wife Elvira founded the Calusari winery in the Bonat region in 1998. From day one, they have been focused on growing their business, and through hard work, they have transformed a small vineyard into a state-of-the-art winery. They own approximately 1,200 hectares of vineyards in one of the best locations in Romania. The conditions are favorable. The vineyards are protected by several surrounding hills and benefit from the influence of the Bega River. Calusari focuses on both national and international grapes, emphasizing quality and innovation. They work with great passion and respect for nature and the terroir. The blend of Chardonnay and Feteasca proves to be a golden combination. The ripening grapes complement each other uniquely. Feteasca is considered Romania's secret weapon and is also known as the "black girl." This grape is considerably more complex than the others, giving the wine more structure and a slight bitterness.
The aroma and taste of Calusari Reserva Chardonnay Feteasca Regala
This wine appears dark yellow in the glass. If you look closely, you'll see golden glints here and there. The color is remarkable, thanks to the oak aging. The aroma reveals aromas of apples, peach, and hints of vanilla. Besides the aroma, the taste is also stunning. A full-bodied, soft, and creamy wine fills the mouth. Despite its full-bodied nature, the fruity notes create a subtle mouthfeel that's not at all overpowering. In a word: superb!
