Cava, the pride of Spain

Cava is produced in Penedes, a region about 40 kilometers south of the metropolitan city of Barcelona. Portium's vineyards encompass approximately 100 hectares, situated in some of the most beautiful locations Penedes has to offer. Because the vines are situated on a slightly higher elevation, the grape clusters receive the necessary coolness at night, thanks to the coastal breeze. All of this combined has made Portium Rosé Cava a crowd-pleaser for years.

The composition of Portium Rose Cava

This Portium Rosé cava uses Chardonnay, Macabeo, and Parellada, among other grape varieties. However, these are all white grape varieties. To give this cava an attractive rosé, a touch of Pinot Noir is also added. Cava has, of course, borrowed a little from its older sibling, Champagne, as Pinot Noir is used in abundance here.
