A unique piece of work, this Pinot Grigio from Marco Felluga. The grapes come from the beautiful Collio region, where Pinot Grigio grapes truly flourish. This bottle of wine pays tribute to one of the most important grape varieties in the Collio region of Friuli, cultivated there since the mid-nineteenth century.

Wines with respect for the Felluga tradition

This Italian estate was founded in 1950 by Marco Felluga. Located in the beautiful Collio region of Italy, Marco's son Roberto now runs the winery. Felluga manages over 250 hectares of vineyards, most of which are family-owned and operated, within the Collio region. The vineyards are planted on layers of sandstone, limestone, and clay at an altitude of 80 meters. Roberto practices integrated pest management in the vineyards to protect the environment. White wines are filtered before fermentation at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks. A percentage of white and red wines are refined in wooden barrels. Winemaker Rafaella Bruno uses the latest technologies, while respecting tradition. The name Mongris comes from the portmanteau of "monovarietal" and the Friulan word for Pinot Grigio, Gris. Pinot Grigio arrived in Friuli Venezia Giulia over 150 years ago and is now considered an indigenous grape. Today, it is one of the regional grape varieties. It is the most widely planted white grape.

Completely hand-harvested for Collio Pinot Grigio

The grapes are harvested and selected by hand to ensure only the finest juice reaches the bottle. After destemming, the fruit is macerated on the skins and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. This results in a very pure and creamy wine. The Marco Felluga Collio Pinot Grigio gleams bright gold in the glass. A beautiful bouquet of aromas of apple, peach, and acacia blossoms. The palate is mildly dry with a rich structure, abundant white and yellow fruit with subtle hints of plum and citrus peel! A top wine in our range!
