The Bibi Graetz winery named this wine Testamatta, which means "crazy" in Italian. It's actually the best way to describe this wine. It's a positive winery with a passionate winemaker who always pushes the boundaries. This Testamatta wine displays purity and is a beautiful combination of tradition and creativity.

Bibi Graetz is a winery located in Tuscany, Italy. Founded by Bibi Graetz in 1991, it is known for producing high-quality wines. Graetz uses biodynamic farming methods and traditional winemaking techniques to produce unique and distinctive wines. The winery boasts a beautiful location in the heart of Tuscany, overlooking the mountains and the Arno Valley. Bibi Graetz is a family-run business with an emphasis on quality and authenticity. The Testamatta is made from 100 percent Sangiovese grapes. These come from very old vines spread across Bibi Graetz's various vineyards in Tuscany. The grapes are selected from the finest vineyards. Within each vineyard, the grapes are harvested individually by hand and subjected to strict controls. In the winery, another rigorous selection takes place, after which the grapes are destemmed and gently pressed. Fermentation with natural and indigenous yeasts follows. For the smaller plots, fermentation takes place in open barriques, while for the larger plots, stainless steel tanks are used. After 7 to 10 days, the different plots are transferred to old barriques where they mature for 20 months.

The Testamatta is a ruby red in the glass, instantly revealing a beautiful aroma. An intense and complex bouquet of blueberries, cherries, violets, rosemary, cloves, and cocoa. A beautiful combination of aromas that immediately seduces you from the first sip. On the palate, it offers an elegant and complex flavor. This Bibi Graetz Testamatta is a powerful, full-bodied wine with soft tannins. These flavors continue into a smooth, long finish.

Tuscany received an excellent score of 95 points in 2020. The wines are currently still tannic and youthful, and need time to mature further.
