The origin, grapes and craftsmanship behind this wine.

The origins of Steenberg Sauvignon Blanc lie in the beautiful Constantia Valley, South Africa's oldest wine region. This region, famed for its perfect climate, provides the foundation for ripening Sauvignon Blanc grapes. This allows Steenberg Sauvignon Blanc to develop into a wine with such remarkable aromas and flavors. When it comes to the dedication and expertise of the winemakers, it's clear: Steenberg Sauvignon Blanc is their masterpiece. Every drop of this white wine is the result of their unwavering passion and care.

The Steenberg Farm, founded by Catharina Ras, is not only historically significant but also the birthplace of some of South Africa's finest wines, including Steenberg Sauvignon Blanc. The climate here is almost magical. Thanks to the shade of Table Mountain and the cool sea breeze, this region enjoys low humidity and moderate temperatures, perfect for Sauvignon Blanc grapes. Diversity is key when it comes to the grapes used for Steenberg Sauvignon Blanc. Sourced from different vineyards, they offer a spectrum of flavors: from flint to grassy notes, from green pepper to tropical aromas. This versatility is enhanced by harvesting the grapes at different stages of ripeness, giving Steenberg Sauvignon Blanc a layered complexity. After a careful fermentation process, the wine is aged for three months on its fine lees before bottling.

A glance at the Steenberg Sauvignon Blanc reveals an enchanting straw-yellow color, interspersed with green hues. The aromas are nothing short of captivating: think Cape gooseberries, white blossoms, and a hint of paprika. And the taste? Every sip of the Steenberg Sauvignon Blanc treats you to notes of grapefruit, elderflower, and a mineral backbone. This harmonious blend is enhanced by balanced acidity, creating a smooth yet vibrant experience—exactly what you'd expect from a top-notch Steenberg Sauvignon Blanc.
