1924 Winery was founded by the Indelicato family, originally of Italian descent, who came to California in the 1920s. They established a winery that quickly became one of the most successful. The family empire now encompasses numerous wineries in all the leading areas of California, including 1924. 1924 Winery's vineyards are located in beautiful Lodi, California. This area lies slightly further south than the well-known regions of Napa Valley and Sonoma and benefits from a warmer climate, resulting in full-bodied and powerful grapes. Lodi is known for its high-quality old Zinfandel vineyards. The grapes are harvested from various plots in this area, where the vines are between 35 and 80 years old. Thanks to the warm days and cool nights typical of this region, the grapes ripen perfectly. The large temperature differences between day and night ensure that the Zinfandel retains its freshness while still producing a powerful and full-bodied wine. After harvest, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and maturation in old whiskey barrels.
