This delicious white wine from Gruber Röschitz is made from Gruner Veltliner grapes. A truly wonderful white wine for every day! Its smoothness and easy drinking have earned it the nickname "Klassik" (Classic)! The winery is the Gruber Röschitz winery in Austria's Lower Austria region. This unique region, stretching from the Danube to the Czech Republic in the north and Slovakia in the east, is Austria's largest wine region.

The beginning of the Gruber Roschitz winery

Ewald Gruber is at the helm of this winery. He built it up single-handedly. He sees the Austrian region as a place of limitless potential. He established the company at a time when the vineyards of Niederösterreich and Weinviertal DAC still lacked a strong reputation. This allowed him to expand relatively easily by purchasing high-quality land for vineyards. Some wines from Lower Austria carry the designation of origin Weinviertel DAC, or since 2009, Weinviertel DAC Reserve, provided they are made from the most popular grape in this region, Grüner Veltliner. The soil in this region is significantly different from that of the Wachau. For example, the hills are less steep. The soil in the Wachau is primarily gravy, but in the Donauland region it consists primarily of loess, making it richer and more clayey in character. This results in wines with strong aromatic power, which are therefore very distinctive.

What does Gruber Roschitz Gruner Veltliner Klassik taste like?

This Gruner Veltliner has all the beautiful classic characteristics. The nose reveals delicate aromas of flowers, apple, ripe pear, peach, a touch of citrus, and a hint of green pepper. The palate is exotic, juicy, and fruity with notes of peach and citrus. A balanced, fruity, dry wine, compact, and smooth. It's excellent as an aperitif, but also pairs well with fish dishes (chicken dishes) and soft cheeses.
