In the north of La Mancha, specifically near Quintanar de la Orden, lies the beautiful Condesa de Leganza winery. This winery now belongs to the Bodegas Faustino family, which took over the vineyards in 1999. Significant investment was made in the vineyards, and unusable areas were replanted, creating a perfect mix of old and new vines. Furthermore, there's a brand-new winery equipped with all the latest winemaking techniques. This allows them to produce wines at very attractive prices. We think they've more than succeeded, and we've often wondered how on earth this is possible.

The harvest of the Verdejo for this white Condesa de Leganza wine

In total, Condesa de Leganza now has over 1,100 hectares of vineyards filled with various grape varieties, including Verdejo. This grape thrives in the warm climate; the Verdejo grapes enjoy hours of sunshine but also coolness. Because the vineyard is situated at a higher elevation, there's always a breeze blowing through the vines, preserving the freshness of the Verdejo grapes. After a long and balanced growing season, the Verdejo grapes are harvested at night. This prevents damage to the bunches and oxidation during transport to Condesa de Leganza. Direct pressing follows, and the fresh juice is bottled after a short aging period in the Condesa de Leganza cellars.

This white wine is a bright, light yellow color with a striking green hue. This Condesa de Leganza Verdejo has a fresh aroma of tropical fruit, pineapple, citrus, and a subtle note of fennel and freshly mown grass. It has a smooth and refreshing taste, with a beautiful balance between acidity and floral, spicy notes.
