Leading in the Rueda

Marques de Riscal is originally a true Rioja winery. In fact, it's the oldest, still-operating winery in the Rioja region. However, in 1972, Marques de Riscal decided to move to the then-unknown Rueda region, located 300 kilometers to the west. The result was Marques de Riscal Rueda Verdejo. Thanks to this wine, Rueda received Denominacion de Origen status in 1980, and Rueda is now one of the most renowned wine regions in Spain!

This white wine is made entirely from Verdejo grapes, grown in some of Rueda's finest vineyards. The aromatic grapes are harvested very early, perfectly preserving the wine's freshness.
