The Matsu winery was founded by Vintea and is run by grandfather, father, and grandson, all three of whom work at the winery. The name "Matsu" literally means "Patient Balance" in Japanese, because the family believes balance and patience are essential in winemaking. Matsu red wines are produced in the beautiful Toro wine region, which has held DO recognition since 1987. This ancient vineyard produces beautiful bunches perfectly suited for red wine production. The family uses the most biodynamic techniques, and this is reflected in the pure and smooth style of these red wines.
