Cicente Gandia winery is once again surprising everyone with a new wine. This Ceramic Monastrell is a red wine aged in a jug, marking a return to the Valencian winery's roots. Thousands of years ago, the Greeks and Romans used ceramic vessels for wine production, transport, and preservation. Ceramic Monastrell combines its aging in a jug with its aging in French oak barrels. Aging in a jug brings great freshness and expressiveness, while aging in a barrel gives the wines great finesse and elegance.

Special vinification for Ceramic Monastrell

Ceramic is a wine from old Monastrell vineyards grown in strictly dry conditions. The wine is aged for 11 months in medium-toasted oak barrels and refined in ceramic pots at the end of its aging. The micro-oxygenation that this material allows through the walls of the container produces a slow and continuous supply of oxygen that preserves and enhances the flavor of the fruit, ensuring freshness and expressiveness. While aging in the barrel gives the wines great finesse and elegance. The nose reveals aromas of ripe plums, licorice, and notes of coconut and vanilla. The palate is broad and robust, with sweet tannins and elegant acidity. The finish is lingering with notes of ripe red fruit, rounding out the flavor perfectly.
