Location / Origin: The vineyards are located in Worcester, in the Breede River Valley. The river runs through the family estate and plays an important role in the local microclimate.
Climate & Influences: The Mediterranean microclimate gives the grapes ripe fruit, while soil diversity and river influence ensure freshness and balance.
Vineyard management: The vineyards are sustainably fertilized with natural compost made on the farm itself. This contributes to healthy soil management and consistent grape quality.
Vineyard & Harvest: The grapes are selectively hand-harvested in the cool early morning so that only healthy, ripe bunches with plenty of aromatic freshness are used.
The cellar approach is focused on pure fruit, fresh acidity, and a soft texture.
Harvest & Selection: Only premium free-run juice is used. This yields a refined base with plenty of fruit expression and a clean, elegant structure.
Fermentation: The clarified juice is cold-fermented. This cool fermentation helps keep the aromas of passion fruit, peach, and citrus clear and vibrant.
Maturation: After fermentation, the wine matures on the lees for several months. This gives extra roundness and a subtle coating mouthfeel, while the style remains fruit-driven.
Alcohol content: At 13.5% alcohol, this Chenin Blanc has sufficient body, nicely supported by 6.7 g/l of acidity for a fresh, crisp finish.
