Kleindal wines are produced by Robertson Winery, one of the largest wineries in the region. It is named after the town of Robertson, which has become famous for its excellent wineries. This is partly due to the mighty Breede River, which meanders through the landscape. Because the region can experience extreme temperatures, the Breede River is essential for irrigating the vineyards.
