The origin, grapes and craftsmanship behind this wine.

Chenin Blanc is the white equivalent of Pinotage; the pride of South Africa. A grape that many South African winemakers are immensely proud of. Although Chenin Blanc originates from the Loire Valley—it is part of the renowned Vouvray, for example—it only truly gained recognition when it was widely planted in South African vineyards. It thrives almost perfectly, particularly in the Western Cape, the southwestern part of South Africa. The abundance of sunshine, combined with the refreshing breeze from the Indian Ocean, ensures optimal ripening of the Chenin Blanc bunches. This is precisely why Kleindal Chenin Blanc has proven to be a resounding success in our extensive range.

Kleindal's success lies in the location of its vineyards. The vineyards are situated around the medium-sized town of Robertson, located approximately 160 kilometers from Cape Town. The town was founded in 1853 by the minister William Robertson. Thanks to its favorable location on the Breede River, several wineries have also found their way to Robertson. The Breede River is essential for viticulture in this region, ensuring that the vineyards are irrigated in South Africa's warm climate.

A Chenin Blanc to fall in love with. This gentle, elegant, and understated grape will increasingly take pride of place in many wine cabinets. Chenin Blanc is hot, and a single sip of Kleindal Chenin Blanc will prove it. The aroma is aromatic, distinct, and intense. The fine tropical fruit is a delight for the nose. This exquisite aroma is fully carried through to the perfect palate of Kleindal Chenin Blanc. You'll taste an exuberant palette of fresh pear, flavorful melon, and soft banana. Every sip of wine with Kleindal Chenin Blanc is a true celebration.
