The origin, grapes and craftsmanship behind this wine.

While the Ribolla grape is not well-known outside Collio, it's a true phenomenon in northeastern Italy and neighboring Slovenia. This grape has a characteristically robust acidity and wonderfully refined aromas. At the intimate family estate Toros, they know exactly what to do with this grape variety. This Ribolla Gialla Collio beautifully showcases its characteristic style.

Franco Toros, a renowned winemaker, is a familiar face in his vineyards. As the proud owner of the Toros winery, he relentlessly strives for the highest possible quality. The winery's origins go back to his grandfather, Edoardo, who founded the winery in Novali in the early 20th century. This enchanting region, known as DOC Collio, stretches across Friuli-Venezia Giulia in northeastern Italy. A remarkable characteristic of this area is that some of the vineyards even extend into neighboring Slovenia. With a total of 1,500 hectares of vineyards, primarily planted with white grape varieties, the region excels in producing quality wines. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand at peak ripeness. A clear selection is made within the vineyards themselves among the highest-quality grapes. This selective harvest lays the foundation for the wine's quality. The grapes are then gently pressed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks, perfectly extracting the unique qualities of the Ribolla grape. After the necessary rest, the wine is bottled, and we can now enjoy this Ribolla Gialla Collio.

With a straw-yellow color, this wine sparkles in the glass. The aroma reveals an enchanting bouquet of peach, white flowers, and a touch of spice. On the palate, it's clearly elegant and soft. Toros Ribolla Gialla Collio is characterized by elegant subtlety, with aromas that are not overpowering but rather present in a refined way. The palate reveals a touch of bitterness that balances perfectly with the freshness and soft texture. A well-balanced wine that is both refined and vibrant.
