Vintage Report
The 2023 vintage in Northern Italy has been rated with a score of 89, indicating a year of very good quality. The white wines from this year are characterized as approachable and are now at their optimal drinking window.
A white wine that is highly praised by connoisseurs, this Ca del Bosco Curtefranca wine from the Italian wine region of Lombardy. So, not only Franciacorta wines are produced here, but also white and red wines of a very high standard. This Curtefranca from Ca del Bosco is made from Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc grapes. This wine hasn't undergone oak aging, but you'll think so when you smell it.
The best Chardonnay from Italy
At first, you might think the best Chardonnay wines come from Burgundy, France. But Ca' del Bosco proves that this high level can also be achieved elsewhere with this Curtefranca Corte del Lupo white. In terms of soil, the Curtefranca region shares many similarities with that of Burgundy. This white wine is a blend of 80 percent Chardonnay and 20 percent Pinot Blanc, sourced from vineyards with an average age of 30 years located in the municipality of Erbusco. The grapes are harvested in August. Only the finest grapes are used, and the yield is deliberately low. The remaining fruit is sold. The grapes are harvested by hand, placed in small crates, and transported to the winery. Only the free-flowing juice is used for this wine, about a quarter of which is aged in the small oak barrels used the previous year for the Chardonnay. The remaining must is fermented in steel vats. After aging on the lees for six months without malolactic fermentation, the Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc are blended. The wine is then bottled in the most natural way, gravity-fed. No sulfites are added at this stage to ensure integrity and health. Finally, each bottle is marked with a unique code to ensure traceability.A beautiful elegant white wine from Ca' del Bosco
This white wine is straw-yellow in the glass, with aromas of apple, citrus, minerals, and a touch of light spice. These notes are also evident on the palate, where its elegance is particularly striking. The taste of this Ca del Bosco Curtefranca White is a sensation, perfectly balanced with beautiful fruity notes and an aromatic finish.Product details
