The growing season of Primitivo and Merlot

This delicious red wine is made from Primitivo and Merlot. The blend contains 50% of both grape varieties. These grapes are grown in very sunny vineyards, where they can benefit from all the surrounding influences. Think of the sun, the rich soil structure, and the wind that blows from the sea across the vineyards. With the falling nighttime temperatures, it's sure to be a calm and balanced growing season. When the grapes reach the right ripeness, which is a different time for both grape varieties, the harvest begins. This harvest begins in the middle of the night. We can hear you thinking, why? Because the grapes are still "resting." The cool night makes the skins more resistant to bruising on their way to the winery. Once they arrive in large crates, the bunches are pressed. Vinification and aging in oak barrels follow.
