The 2019 vintage in Rioja received an excellent score of 95 points from Robert Parker. The wines from this year mature early and are already very accessible.

Marques de Caceres Reserva is undoubtedly one of the flagship wines of this beautiful winery. This delicious red wine is made from 85 percent Tempranillo, 10 percent Garnacha, and 5 percent Graciano. All grapes come from vines between 25 and 35 years old, lending their distinctive character to this exquisite red wine. This lends the wines their beautiful terroir. The soil where the vines are planted consists primarily of clay and limestone, allowing the grapes to develop exceptionally well, combined with the warm climate.

A top wine from Rioja

This Reserva is a wine that shines in every respect for its quality. The principle of Excellens Reserva in Rioja is that the wine is aged in barrels for at least six months. This gives it a slightly mature character. But that's not all. It's customary for the winery to use the finest grapes for the Reserva. Only a wine with sufficient character and fruit can "survive" such a long barrel aging and still retain its unique character. This Reserva from Marqués de Cáceres undergoes a superb 20-month oak aging process, half in used barrels and the other half in new oak barrels. After bottling, it matures for another 24 months in the bottle before it is ready to be consumed. All this results in a top-notch Rioja wine!

The aromas and flavours of Marques de Caceres Excellens Reserva

The color is intense and deep ruby red with an almost black rim. The aroma, wow! Wonderful aromas of lightly toasted wood, vanilla, spices, leather, and ripe black fruit. The taste is very intense. A wonderfully full mouthfeel that immediately warms you up. The rich nuances of black fruit, interspersed with toasted vanilla notes and a nice dose of spice, ensure we can't stop raving about this wine. The finish has pleasant tannins with a rich, full finish. It's no wonder it's a popular red wine.
