La Riche Richesse Stellenbosch comes from the Stellenbosch region of South Africa, an area with a rich winemaking history. Richesse means "wealth" in French, a symbolic reference to the region's rich tradition. The wine is made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsaut, and smaller amounts of Bordeaux grapes. The Stellenbosch region is known for its perfect climate and soil for producing quality wines, and La Riche Winery prides itself on creating a wine that reflects the region's rich history and potential. The grapes are vinified separately, allowing each variety time to develop its unique characteristics. This process can take up to a year, depending on the grape variety. After each grape is vinified separately, they are blended. The wine then matures for 12 months in French oak barrels. After this, the wine is aged further in batches across different barrel sizes. This contributes to the wine's complexity and creates a beautiful balance between fruity and woody notes.
