Vintage Report

The 2021 vintage achieved a maximum score of 89 points in the nearby Bordeaux region, indicating above-average to excellent wines. However, it was a volatile and inconsistent year, meaning quality can vary by producer.
Chateau Belingard lies in the heart of the Monbazillac and Bergerac wine region. The De Bosredon family has been working this land for over two hundred years. They use various grape varieties, including Sauvignon, Semillon, and Muscadelle for their white wines, and Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec for their reds. Today, Laurent is at the helm, combining age-old traditions with the latest techniques to produce exquisite wines. The wines are balanced, fresh, and all full of character. This red Bergerac, for example, is not only fruity but also delightfully smooth and refreshing.

A versatile blend for Bergerac Red

On the banks of the Dordogne River lies the town of Bergerac. The vineyards are nestled on the rolling hills near the river. The vines are deeply rooted in a variety of soil types, including gravel, quartz, and calcareous clay. This allows the grapes to develop their exquisite characteristics. The blend consists of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec. The grapes are harvested mechanically at night. Afterward, they are transferred to cold-skin contact vats for four days. Fermentation follows, with frequent pumping over to remove the tannins from the skins. The wine is then separated from the grapes, and malolactic fermentation begins. Finally, the wine is aged for several months before being bottled after some rest.

Enjoy the smooth Chateau Belingard Bergerac Red

A beautiful red wine from Château Belingard, its color and aroma alone make it very appealing. The nose is very fruity with red berries and a hint of vanilla. The palate is round, smooth, and delightfully fresh. On the palate, this wine develops from red fruit to a beautiful balance. A lingering finish awaits. This red wine pairs beautifully with poultry, burgers, pasta, and pizza.
