A favorite of many of us, this red Rimbaldi is known for its softness and richness. The Rimbaldi winery is part of the Botter family. And now we understand the exquisite quality of this red wine, as the family winery produces truly exquisite wines and is located in some of the most beautiful wine regions, such as Veneto and Friuli, about 30 km northeast of Venice. The vineyards for this red wine are located in Abruzzo, a region in south-central Italy. The vineyards are in beautiful condition and provide the Rimbaldi winemakers with a truly magnificent harvest. But this doesn't happen automatically and requires a tremendous amount of work.

The harvest of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

Rimbaldi boasts beautiful vineyards filled with Montepulciano grapes, which thrive in the best climate. Abruzzo is the region where this wine is grown, and the warm, sunny afternoons infuse the grapes with great vigor. Because the vines are deeply rooted in the soil, they can absorb sufficient moisture and are well-suited to the warm climate. Harvesting begins early in the morning while the Montepulciano grapes are still dormant, as the winemaker believes this is crucial for achieving freshness and a sense of calm in the wine. After a long aging process in Rimbaldi's cellars, this red Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is ready to drink.

What does Rimbaldi red wine taste like?

The family explains that it's made with a strong focus on smoothness. And they're right, because as soon as the cap pops open, this red Rimbaldi wine reveals aromas of red and black fruit with hints of plum and spice. The palate is soft and very refined, with a richness of cherry, blueberry, and blackberry. On the back of the tongue, it also reveals nuances of cocoa and light spice, which completes the whole experience.
