Not just any glass of Merlot, but one that will make you do a little happy dance. Teezen has honored its wine in this way, depicting a dance on every Teezen label. We wanted to experience this, so we put it to the test. We traveled to the west coast of South Africa, where the Teezen winery was located. A beautiful region renowned for its wines. This Merlot, too, is grown in this area and enjoys the many hours of sunshine as well as the fresh sea breeze. A perfect combination for a top-class Merlot wine.

The old Merlot vineyard of Teezen

In the vineyards filled with Merlot bunches, we see very old stems. These stems bear beautiful, thick clusters, a truly remarkable sight. The perfect climate, combined with the rich soil, ensures a meticulous harvest. The harvest is brought in at night to minimize bruising. Upon arrival, all the bunches are inspected, and only the finest are used for this red wine. This ensures that the Teezen winemaker gets only the finest juice in his wine, and that's evident in the aroma and flavor.

Balanced taste for this red Teezen wine

The wine is beautifully balanced, with a lovely roundness and some classic flavors and aromas. But as soon as the bottle is opened, we smell fresh red and black fruit. In the glass, it transforms beautifully into a top-quality Merlot, purple with a red sheen. Beautiful aromas of blackberry and cherry dance from the glass. A swirl of the glass also reveals notes of pepper and dark chocolate. On the palate, we taste silky-smooth tannins, an interplay of red and black fruit, with a touch of vanilla. At the back of the throat, some candied fruit and, of course, a hint of cocoa. The smooth finish truly completes the whole experience.
