The 2023 vintage for white wines from Trentino-Alto Adige received an excellent score of 88 points. The wines from this vintage are currently perfectly ready to drink.

This white Stoan from the Cantina Tramin Kellerei winery is one of the top wines from the South Tyrol/Alto Adige wine region. The winery has a long history, having begun over 120 years ago in 1898. Back then, a group of winegrowers joined forces to establish a new winery. This proved to be a success, as today, Cantina Tramin Kellerei has over three hundred winegrowers affiliated with it. Their knowledge and experience are a treasure trove, allowing them to produce fantastic wines in unique locations. But this doesn't happen by itself; hard work has gone into the vineyards in the heart of South Tyrol/Alto Adige. After the arrival of winemaker Willi Stürz, the winery has taken an even bigger step forward compared to its competitors. The wines are impeccable, and several top cuvées have been created, including this Stoan.

This most famous wine from Cantina Tramin Kellerei is made from 65% Chardonnay, 20% Sauvignon Blanc, 10% Pinot Blanc, and 5% Gewürztraminer grapes. These grapes grow on the oldest vines of this beautiful Italian winery. Its name comes from the vineyard, which is situated at an altitude of 500 meters. The soil in this vineyard is incredibly rich in pebbles, stones, and minerals. Hence the name Stoan! The climate here is always diverse: abundant sunshine, cold rainy winds, and cool nights contribute to a top harvest, from which this royal wine is made.

Wood aging for the Stoan Tramin Cuvee Bianco

After a long maturation period, the grapes are harvested entirely by hand. Each grape variety is inspected individually, after which each grape variety is vinified separately. Then it's up to winemaker Willi Stürz, who determines the grape ratio and makes this Stoan white wine a celebration every year. This white wine then matures for at least eleven months in oak barrels in the cellars of Cantina Tramin Kellerei. After aging in oak, the bottles are filled and prepared for three months of cellar aging. Only when the final result is phenomenal are the bottles released. The aroma of this wine reveals notes of peaches, apricots, pears, elderflower, kumquat, and white flowers with delicate spicy notes of jasmine and cinnamon. The taste is very deep and rich, with beautiful aromas of pineapple, banana, pear, tomato leaves, green bell pepper, citrus peel, and light herbs. But it's a never-ending journey of discovery—a wine for connoisseurs!
