Vintage Report

Het oogstjaar 2015 in Victoria wordt gewaardeerd met een uitstekende score van 90. De wijnen uit dit jaar worden gekenmerkt als vroeg rijp en goed toegankelijk.
It all began in 1927 on the banks of central Victoria's Goulburn River, where the Purbrick family planted the magnificent Marsanne grape. Originally from France's Rhône region, this grape thrives in Tahbilk, now representing the largest and oldest single-vineyard operation of the variety in the world. And with five generations of experience under their belts, the Purbricks are true masters of Marsanne, having received some of the world's highest accolades. We're talking over 1,000 awards and more than 50 trophies from the world's most important wine shows.

Unique Marsanne grapes from Tahbilk

Founded in 1860, Tahbilk is a historic family estate renowned for its rare, aged Marsanne. Known as "tabilk tabilk" in the language of the Daungwurrung clans, Tahbilk translates as "place of many waterholes." This perfectly describes this prime wine-growing landscape, located in the Nagambie Lakes region of Central Victoria. The estate encompasses 1,214 hectares. Tahbilk's vineyards are clustered along the banks of the Goulburn River. The vines are cultivated at an altitude of 134 meters on flat terrain. The soils are sandy loam with iron oxide content. The grapes come from the single-vineyard Madills 1927 block. For the 1927 Marsanne vines, the fruit is picked early and transformed into pure magic in the bottle. Fermentation takes place with select yeasts at cool temperatures for approximately 20 days in stainless steel tanks, preserving the delicious fruit. Finally, the Marsanne is aged in the bottle for seven years.

Enjoy the complex aromas of Tahbilk 1927 Vines Marsanne

The 1927 Vines Marsanne boasts complex aromas of mineral, lemon, and orange, complemented by fresh hay notes. The palate reveals zesty notes of lemon, grapefruit, and toast. It is beautifully balanced and has a lively acidity that carries through to a pleasant finish.
