Valenciso was founded in 1998. The Valenciso winery was founded in 1998, its name resulting from a blend of the surnames of its founders, Luís Valentín and Carmen Enciso. Assisted by agronomist Julián Palacios, the winery team, now consisting of six people, produces elegant and fine wines that emphasize the fruit's presence above the wood. The vineyards and cellar are located in Rioja Alta, Spain. The cornerstone of the estate is mature, low-yielding vineyards. Valenciso is all about aromatic complexity, much like Burgundy or Riojas of the past. Reserve aging takes place in French oak barriques to further enhance this elegant character of the wines.
