The origin, grapes and craftsmanship behind this wine.

In the heart of Stellenbosch, where South African wine culture is experienced at its most refined and passionate, we find De Toren Private Cellar. Renowned for its exceptional approach to winemaking, this winery presents the De Toren Delicate; a red wine that stands as a monument to craftsmanship and dedication. Complex, fruity, smooth, and harmonious. This Delicate has it all.

Located in Stellenbosch, South Africa, De Toren is one of the region's most distinctive wineries. They are fully focused on crafting cutting-edge red wines. These wines are all known for their complexity, aging potential, accessibility, and high quality. One of De Toren's unique aspects is the use of gravity during the winemaking process, resulting in wines with a distinct tannin structure. Delicate is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Malbec grapes. The grapes are carefully harvested from the finest vineyards at peak ripeness and then undergo a unique vinification process. By using the saignée method for the Malbec and aging the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in wooden barrels for a year, a fusion of two vintages is created that captivates the senses.

Upon opening the bottle, aromas of ripe red fruit rise, combined with delicate notes of rose petals and a hint of marshmallow, while subtle hints of cinnamon linger in the background. The soft tannins and fine acidity dance harmoniously together, giving the wine a light character. Careful aging in oak barrels adds subtle depth and complexity. Each sip reveals layers of flavor, from the ripe red fruit to the soft, almost velvety texture that glides across the tongue. Its accessibility makes it a wine that pairs well with a wide variety of dishes.
