Buy or order wine from Apostelhoeve Maastricht

The chauvinists among us can indulge themselves with Apostelhoeve wines. These successful wines are quintessentially Dutch. Now world-famous, this piece of Dutch pride has also gained a foothold beyond the national borders. Pure, beautiful Dutch wines, simply combined with the refined Limburg culture.

Wines from the Netherlands

Yes, you read that right. The beautiful bottles of Apostelhoeve wine come straight from the Netherlands. Not from major wine-producing countries like Italy, France, or Spain, but from our own little frog country. Although, when you walk through the Apostelhoeve vineyards, it feels like you're in France. We are, of course, in the very south of Limburg, just south of Maastricht, literally a stone's throw from the Dutch-Belgian border. This is where the family behind Apostelhoeve has been crafting the finest Dutch wines since 1970.

The vineyards of Apostelhoeve

Apostelhoeve's origins date back to 1970. That year, local fruit grower Hugo Hulst decided to establish a vineyard on the southern slopes near the Louwberg. The first harvest took place in 1973. At the time, it was "only" 1,400 bottles. Not a bad start, by any means. Now, almost fifty harvests later, production has increased to 110,000 bottles. That seems like a huge amount, but with the popularity of the magnificent Apostelhoeve, it's still not enough; they sell out time and time again.

The refined taste of the Apostelhoeve wines appeals to many people. On their 14 hectares, they therefore choose fairly specific grape varieties, which are well suited to the chalky soils of South Limburg. Think of well-known names such as Riesling and Pinot Gris (indeed, known from Alsace), but also lesser-known grapes such as Auxerrois and Muller-Thurgau have a firm foothold. Apostelhoeve is especially known for its mono-cepage wines; wines made from a single grape variety. But the most striking is the Apostelhoeve Cuvee XII, a true success that is guaranteed to sell out every year.
