But perhaps the most striking aspect is the founders of Cecilia Beretta. It was founded by none other than the Pasqua family, famous for their eponymous Pasqua wines. Few people know that the Pasqua family is constantly innovating; they strive for continuous development. For the Cecilia Beretta project, the family had owned land around the village of Mizzole since the 1940s. However, it wasn't until the 1980s that they decided to develop the winery. Cecilia Beretta is situated around the stately 17th-century manor house, Villa Beretta, which also gives its name to this unique winery.

Cecilia Beretta's vineyards are located just north of the cultural city of Verona. This region, part of the vast Veneto region, is also known as Valpolicella. It is also the beating heart of Northern Italian viticulture. Valpolicella is also known for numerous great wines such as Amarone and Ripasso.
