Waterkloof Estate was purchased by pioneer Paul Boutinot in 2004. It is situated on Schaapenberg Hill, just a stone's throw from the coast. The view is breathtaking, to say the least. The vineyards are just three kilometers from the ocean, at an altitude of no less than 300 meters above sea level. A truly unique location, we can safely say. The ocean has a clear influence on the False Bay grapevines. During the day, the sun shines abundantly. At night, a cool breeze blows in from the ocean, which promotes the growth process and the development of aromas in the grapes.

The award-winning wines of False Bay

Our oenologists have been impressed with these South African wines since their very first sip—the Sauvignon Blanc. They know exactly how to strike the perfect balance between price and quality. Better South African wines are hard to come by in this price range. Harold Hamersma also rates these wines highly in De Grote Hamersma, the reference guide for wine lovers. The False Bay Whole Bunch Rose and False Bay Pinotage both received a 7.5 in De Grote Hamersma.
