The rich history of Domaine Preignes Le Vieux

This white wine is produced by Domaine Preignes Le Vieux, a winery located in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France. This wine is a blend of two grape varieties: Terret and Sauvignon Blanc. The Preignes Le Vieux estate is centrally located in the beautiful Languedoc region and has a rich history dating back to 1202. The castle is beautifully situated and boasts several original features, such as a tower and gateway, which can still be admired. The estate has developed into a versatile wine estate with a wide variety of grape varieties. The current owners, brothers Jerôme, Robert, and Bruno Vic, are fifth-generation winemakers and have committed themselves to producing only top-quality wines. The Terret and Sauvignon Blanc grapes are harvested mechanically at night, with careful selection. The grapes grow in soils of silt and volcanic rock, which contributes to the wine's unique flavor and aromas. After harvesting, the grapes are pneumatically pressed, and the pressed juice is separated from the solids. Fermentation takes place at a temperature of 15 to 20 degrees Celsius, which helps preserve the wine's fresh aromas. This careful vinification process creates a delicious wine with a unique character.
