This Malbec comes from a small ten-hectare vineyard at an altitude of 1,100 meters. This altitude provides plenty of coolness in the evenings, which is very beneficial for this wine! This gives it more depth and body. This family is relatively new to Mendoza, but they immediately attracted attention with their exceptional wines.

La Posta is a single-vineyard wine brand founded in 2002 by small family growers in Mendoza, Argentina. Each bottle is composed of five flagship wines and is named after the family that produced them. Laura Catena, daughter of the renowned wine pioneer Nicolas Catena, founded this wine. Her motivation was to give Mendoza's smaller winemakers a platform of their own, rather than a nameless niche in the local cooperative. The series is named La Posta, after the typical local roadside pub found everywhere in that region. The vineyard is relatively small, with a mere ten hectares. This means it can be cared for with a great deal of warmth and attention. And we can certainly leave that to the Pizzella family. They have a great passion for growing grapes. No wonder this produces beautiful Malbecs. The fruit takes center stage here, thanks to the beautifully aromatic grapes harvested and the careful use of oak. No more than 15 percent of the barrels are replaced annually, resulting in a subtle woody aroma. A unique, beautifully characterized Malbec.

Twelve months of wood aging for the Pizzella Malbec

This wine is aged for at least twelve months in oak barrels, 15% of which are new. As a result, this Pizzella Malbec has aromas of black cherries, dark fruit, dark chocolate, and spices. The palate is incredibly full, with notes of dark berries and plums, as well as vanilla, cedar, and even a hint of violet! La Posta Pizzella is a complex wine with a beautifully full, smooth finish.
