This is by far Domaine Bousquet's best-selling wine, and naturally made from the Argentinian Malbec grape. All grapes are grown in the Uco Valley in Mendoza according to very strict standards. This allows all Malbec grapes to be grown as organic grapes. Domaine Bousquet's old vineyards are located at an altitude of 1200 meters. The climate here is perfect for powerful red wines. The vines receive plenty of sunshine during the hot summers, but also a tremendous amount of coolness from the winds that blow across the Andes. But that's not the only coolness the vineyards receive, as the difference between day and night temperatures is enormous, sometimes reaching up to twenty degrees.
Completely hand-harvested for this Domaine Bousquet Malbec
Once the Malbec grapes have reached their ideal ripeness, they are harvested entirely by hand. This only happens in the early morning, before sunrise. This early harvest minimizes the risk of bruising during transport, and they are shipped in small crates to the Domaine Bousquet winery. The wines are made with French suppleness. A notable feature is that the wines are aged without oak. This is done to preserve the fruity explosion in the Malbec and because the juice is already exceptionally rich. A wine to savor, where you can taste the beautiful, full flavors of the Malbec grape.
What does Domaine Bousquet Malbec taste like?
Once in the glass, the beautiful color reveals itself. This red wine is violet, almost black, typical of a top-quality Argentinian Malbec. On the nose, this Domaine Bousquet Malbec offers intense, rich aromas of black fruit and a hint of black pepper. The finish also reveals hints of chocolate and a touch of cinnamon. This wine boasts excellent structure and length without losing its freshness and smoothness. On the palate, you'll taste blackcurrant, plum, and a hint of chocolate with a soft, supple finish. This smooth finish makes this Malbec a delicious everyday wine, but also pairs well with meat dishes.
