A unique winery with a fascinating story. A winery you'll want to visit for a while. It immediately piques your interest. Besides the perfectly crafted appearance of the bottles, the juice is also of world-class quality. Furthermore, every bottle of Lunaria wine is biodynamically produced, so you can enjoy this Italian high-flyer with peace of mind.

Italian wine from Abruzzo

Lunaria is part of Cantina Orsogna, a large cooperative of over 600 winegrowers in Abruzzo. The Chiccitti family is one of these winegrowers, who produce Lunaria wines. They are among the most successful, as Lunaria wines are a huge sales success. Lunaria is a corruption of Luna Gaia, which simply means "happy moon." This name is given to these Italian wines for good reason. The family observes the moon intently and, based on its lunar cycle, decides whether the harvest can be brought in.

The special vineyards of Lunaria

The vineyards for Lunaria's successful wines are located near the Majella mountain, part of the Apennine Mountains. The vineyards are just 15 kilometers from the Adriatic Sea. At altitudes of up to 450 meters, Lunaria's grapes are in magnificent condition. The attention given to the primarily indigenous grape varieties is truly exceptional. Every aspect is considered to ensure a good harvest. And all this is done without pesticides, making Lunaria's wines entirely biodynamic.

The Italian wines of Lunaria

In Lunaria's impressive cellars, you'll find countless beautiful bottles from this winery. All wines are made, without exception, from local grape varieties that have established a strong presence in Abruzzo, such as Trebbiano, Montepulciano, and Pecorino. From the latter, the winery creates a truly distinguished wine: the Lunaria Civitas Pecorino Ancestrale Spumante. A beautiful sparkling wine from Abruzzo that's always a treat.
