The Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards of Oude Kaap are perfectly situated in Franschhoek. The bunches enjoy the warm summers but also receive ample cooling from the ocean breeze. The nights are cool, allowing the harvest to rest while the bunches mature. The soil is a treasure trove for the ancient vines. Wine has been grown on these soils for hundreds of years, and that's precisely why the Cabernet Sauvignon derives so much strength. With its deep roots, they can easily absorb moisture and nutrients from the soil. After harvest, this Cabernet Sauvignon is aged for several months in oak barrels, giving this red wine even more power. This is why it deserves the name Reserve Collection.
