The very best in a single bottle—that was the mission for the current head of the winery, Jean-Claude Mas. But leave that to the master, as he's known as the best winemaker in the South of France. And we have to agree, because this man can truly conjure up the most beautiful things from a single grape. But that doesn't happen by itself. The Domaines Paul Mas winery, located in the Languedoc/Roussillon wine region, has existed since 1892. The old vines on which the white grape varieties grow are in perfect condition and yield a rich and full harvest.

The composition of the white Claude Val wine

This white wine features Paul Mas's finest grape varieties, namely Chasan, Chenin Blanc, Grenache Blanc, Mauzac, Sauvignon Blanc, and Vermentino. The vineyards are planted in clay and gravel soil, allowing the plants to easily absorb moisture. This is essential, as summers can be very hot. The bunches are also naturally cooled by the Atlantic breeze. All of this results in a superb harvest with great depth and power.

The aroma and taste of the white Claude Val

Everything comes together in the aroma of the white Claude Val, a complex nose with aromas of citrus, tropical fruit, and white flowers. The palate is equally beautiful, with a lovely attack of primarily white fruit, including green apples, fresh pears, and a touch of peaches. On the back of the palate, this white wine offers some light green herbs and a hint of tropical fruit and white flowers. The finish is a lovely, slightly dry finish that rounds it all off. This wine is, of course, wonderful as an evening wine but can also be paired with dishes such as whitefish, curries, and poultry.
