This red wine from Prunotto is also called "baby Barolo," a wine made from the Nebbiolo grape, but grown in the Langhe wine region. The Prunotto winery was actually founded in 1904 by Giacomo Oddero and Alfredo Prunotto. The winery had a good start, but due to various influences, they eventually had to close it down. Alfredo Prunotto always regretted this decision and bought the winery back a few years later. He gave it his own name and continued his passion for winemaking. He more than succeeded, and the winery has since grown into a global player, thanks in part to its classic and smooth flavors. When Alfredo decided to retire, the Antinori family arrived in no time. They took over the winery and added a special touch, reflecting their deep and versatile winemaking expertise.
