Moreover, the wines are magnificent, making them sure to become your new favorites.

The wines from Italy

The history of Tenuta Grimani goes back a long way. This magnificent winery was founded by the Grimani family. In earlier times, when Venice was still part of the Kingdom of Lombardy-Venetia, the Grimani family was a prominent name. From the 15th century until well into the 19th century, they held important political positions, including three Doges of Venice. By today's standards, they were also among the wealthiest families in the country. They owned extensive real estate, including opera houses and a theater—and, importantly, a magnificent winery nestled in the hills of Soave.

The wines of Tenuta Grimani

Grimani wines were popular with local aristocrats in the 18th and 19th centuries. However, as the unification of Italy approached and the kingdoms collapsed one by one, the Grimani family also came to an end. The estate was eventually purchased by Pietro Dal Cero. The Grimani name was retained as a tribute. His daughter Maria and son-in-law eventually took over the winery. In the 1980s and 1990s, the focus shifted primarily to bulk wines: easy-to-make wines where quantity was paramount. With the addition of daughter Laura and son Andrea in 2006, the focus shifted.
