The origin, grapes and craftsmanship behind this wine.

The Chianti Classico Riserva, a well-known wine for many wine lovers, is unparalleled in the production of this beautiful red wine by Villa Trasqua. Located in the heart of Tuscany, this winery was founded in 1965 in the finest part of the Chianti region. From the estate's watchtower, there's a magnificent view of the expansive vineyards, the ancient olive groves, and the centuries-old farmhouses surrounding it. A feast for the eyes. This unique place is definitely worth a visit.

When people think of Tuscan wines, Chianti quickly comes to mind. And rightly so, as the world-famous Chianti wines are also truly exceptional. This Villa Trasqua Fanatico Chianti Classico Risesrva is a perfect example! This red wine is made entirely from the renowned Sangiovese grape. These grapes are each treated like little princes in the vineyards. Only the best is good enough for this delicious red wine. To ensure that only the finest grapes are used in the wine, the harvest is done entirely by hand. This manual harvest allows for a strict selection of the fruit. Harvesting takes place early in the morning when temperatures are not yet too warm. This cooler nighttime temperature allows the grape skins to better withstand transport to the winery. Once at the press, the grapes are pressed. After pressing, they are aged for 24 months in oak barrels. Some of the wine is aged in large Slovenian oak barrels, while the rest is aged in small French oak barrels. After bottling, it is aged in the bottle for another three months in the Villa Trasqua cellar.

After such a long period, the results are certainly impressive! This Fanatico Riserva from Villa Trasqua is a true gem. Upon pouring, we were immediately impressed by its deep, dark ruby red color. This Chianti exudes a regal air in the glass. The aroma offers wonderfully deep aromas of cherries, plums, roasted nuts, and a light hint of oak. We're now incredibly curious about the taste of this Chianti gem. This red wine from Villa Trasqua has beautiful notes of ripe black fruit interspersed with a lovely spiciness. Thanks to the oak aging, this red wine is wonderfully powerful and full-bodied, with a silky smooth finish. A wine to truly sit down and savor, this Villa Trasqua Fanatico Chianti Classico Riserva.
