Vintage Report

De jaargang 2024 is zeer recent en er is nog geen officiële beoordeling beschikbaar. Niederösterreich staat echter bekend om zijn uitstekende Grüner Veltliner, die in jonge jaren al frisheid en karakter toont.

Our Review

This drinks very smoothly. Fruity, not too high in acidity. Need a white for a party? You can't go wrong with this one. And of course, that combination with Eindhoven is brilliant (I lived there for many years myself).

(W)EINDJE, the wine Eindhoven drinks! 2024

For this edition, a high-quality Grüner Veltliner from Weingut Hagn was selected, a family-owned winery from Lower Austria">Lower Austria renowned for generations for its flawless style and precision in the vineyard. The estate employs modern cellar techniques, yet respects tradition, always prioritizing freshness and terroir expression.

This Grüner Veltliner is fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve its pure character and then briefly matured on the fine lees for added structure and refinement. The result is a wine that is both accessible and gourmet, perfect for a drink in the city, but also a strong addition to the table.

Ideal with light appetizers, salads with a fresh vinaigrette, Asian dishes with a subtle spiciness, or a classic Viennese schnitzel. Eindhoven has a new favorite.

Hagn Winery

In the small village of Mailberg, in the northwest of the Weinviertel region, lies Weingut Hagn. A family-run winery in the beautiful Pulkautal valley, they produce a fine selection of wines made primarily from indigenous grapes. The family owns approximately 50 hectares of vineyards, the most important of which are located right next to the winery. The combination of the unique microclimate and the excellent soil allows them to produce unique wines with a fresh and spicy character. What makes the winery so successful is the loyal and strong family bond that has held sway for many years. It's no wonder they've won award after award, including the "Winery of the Year" award several years in a row. Since 2006, Leo and Wolfgang Hagn have been ultimately responsible for the winery. Naturally, they continue the long tradition of sustainable business practices to ensure a bright future for future generations.
