Torres Winery is a household name throughout the wine world. This originally Spanish winery has its roots in Catalunya, in northern Spain. The winery was founded in 1870 by Miguel Torres, who studied oenology in France. It is thanks to him that various French grape varieties have gained a foothold in Spanish viticulture. However, Torres's dreams were even grander. More than a hundred years later, the winery expanded overseas. In 1979, the first vines were planted in Chile. Now, over 50 years later, Miguel Torres Chile is the Chilean equivalent of Torres in Spain: a true pioneer in the winemaking of this South American country.
