The climate in Terre di Chieti was excellent for grape growth, resulting in wines of the highest quality. The proximity of the Adriatic coast had a positive influence on the growth process of the Pecorino grapes.

Rube is a new winery in our extensive selection. Our oenologists discovered this winery by chance, and we're still thrilled with this surprising discovery. Perhaps the most unique wine is this Pecorino. Don't confuse the Pecorino grape with the sheep's milk cheese of the same name, which is primarily produced in central Italy. The Pecorino grape was almost extinct. Fortunately, a handful of winemakers in Abruzzo decided to revive it, and with great success. Today, Pecorino grapes are once again in high demand among wine-drinking consumers.

The vineyards of Rube Pecorino

The region where this white wine is produced is Terre di Chieti. This is the southernmost province of the Abruzzo region in central Italy. This region is known for its accessible yet pleasant wines, which are available at reasonable prices. The climate, in particular, is excellent for grape growth. The vines are relatively close to the Adriatic coast, which positively influences the growth process of the Pecorino grapes. This is precisely why this Rube Pecorino Terre di Chieti is of the highest quality.

What does Rube Pecorino taste like?

Pecorino comes in many forms, but generally it's fresh and quite fruity. It shares many characteristics with Pinot Grigio, but in our opinion, Pecorino is much more exciting and challenging. You're guaranteed to be surprised with a glass of Pecorino in your hands. The aroma is exuberant and strong. You'll discover tropical fruit and distinct floral notes. A generous dollop of balsamic vinegar is clearly discernible. The palate is exuberant, full of finesse, and flawless. Perfection down to the last detail. The finish is characterized by a slightly herbal, sage-like note and a hint of minerality.
