Unique climate for Tahbilk Roussanne Marsanne Viognier

Established in 1860, Tahblik is one of Australia's finest and most historic wineries. It remains family-owned to this day. The estate is located in the Nagambie Lakes region of central Victoria. Established in 1860, Tahbilk is one of Australia's finest and most historic family-owned wineries. Located in the Nagambie Lakes region of central Victoria, the estate comprises approximately 1,214 hectares. Purchased by the Purbrick family in 1925, Tahbilk has been home to five generations. The climate is unique. It is the only Australian wine region where the climate is influenced by inland water. The numerous lakes and lagoons in the region, connected by the Goulburn River, have a cooling effect and moderate the average temperature in the area. Nagambie Lakes also boasts unique red sandy loam soils due to their high iron oxide content, which positively impacts the grape quality and gives the wines a distinct regional character. The region is best known for its old-vine Shiraz and also has plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon. Rhône white varieties also excel, including Viognier, Roussanne, and the age-worthy Marsanne.

Enjoy the fruity Tahbilk Roussanne Marsanne Viognier

The grapes are harvested only at peak ripeness, a process determined by regular tasting. The grapes are then transported to the winery, where traditional winemaking takes place. The aroma begins with floral notes, elderflower, and a generous dose of rosewater. This is followed by aromas of lemon and fresh ginger, thanks to the Viognier grape. The palate is beautifully rounded with stone fruit and apricots, complemented by juicy tropical fruit. The fruit is interspersed with a bright acidity that carries through to the finish.
