The origin, grapes and craftsmanship behind this wine.

Santa Rita is one of Chile's oldest wineries, founded by Don Domingo Fernandez Concha in 1880. He was inspired by French viticulture, and this French influence is still evident in the wines today. The winery offers a diverse range of wines, all of high quality. It's no wonder the wines regularly win awards.

The Chardonnay grapes for this Floresta wine are grown in the Limari Valley. Besides Chardonnay, Syrah is also widely planted here. The soils consist of alluvial deposits with a layer of clay and stones. The climate here is strongly influenced by the Pacific Ocean. Days begin with a morning mist that persists into the afternoon. This then gives way to higher temperatures, which are then tempered by a fresh sea breeze. This allows the grapes to not only develop their unique characteristics but also ripen perfectly. When the grapes are perfectly ripe, they are harvested entirely by hand. This is done at night to preserve their freshness. They are then boxed and transported to the winery, where a rigorous selection process takes place. Because, quite simply, only the best of the best is good enough. A controlled fermentation follows, and the wine is finally aged for eight months in oak barrels.

Floresta Chardonnay is a bright, straw-yellow wine. The first impression is elegant and dry. The aromas are dominated by white fruit, flowers, and notes of white fruit like peach and pear. The palate is broad and softly textured. The crisp acidity balances everything out and creates an exciting finish.
