The origin, grapes and craftsmanship behind this wine.

Steininger's king of wine, this Cru from the Kamptal Valley! This Gruner Veltliner Kittmannsberg Reserve is a unique piece of craftsmanship with a very special character. A great Grüner Veltliner with a striking minerality.

Weingut Karl Steininger is located in Langenlois, Austria's fastest-growing wine region. Langenlois is also the country's largest wine town. The white Gruner Veltliner grape is particularly popular in this region, and it is the winery's primary focus. This grape is so popular that more than half of all the family-run wines are made from this distinctive variety. At the Kittmannsberg vineyard, the careful cultivation of the Grüner Veltliner grape is elevated to an art form. The winery's philosophy is to create wines that showcase the grape's fruit and character. They prioritize style, revealing the grape's provenance through distinct, proud, and expressive flavors.

In their "Kittmannsberg" vineyard, the careful cultivation of Austria's national grape, the Grüner Veltliner, is elevated to an art form. This is the foundation for creating truly magnificent wines that have earned both Steininger and Austria its reputation as renowned wine suppliers. For their exquisite Cu Kittmannsberg, the grapes are harvested by hand, each individually selected. The wine is made using modern methods, including fermentation and aging in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. Steininger Grüner Veltliner Kittmannsberg Reserve has a bright, pale yellow color. It boasts delicate aromas of acacia flowers and white pepper. This grand Grüner Veltliner has a striking minerality; it is rich and complex on the palate, with an intense and powerful flavor of dried fruit, minerals, and very clean acidity. The palate concludes with a long finish. Steininger Grüner Veltliner Kittmansberg Reserve is delicious with white meat, poultry, sweetbreads, fish dishes, and light oriental dishes. This beautiful Cru is also an ideal accompaniment to shellfish (oysters, scallops).
