AIX Provence Rosé 2024 Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence, France
AIX Provence Rosé 2024 represents the pure, modern interpretation of Provence rosé and has become one of the most recognizable names in its category. The wine is produced at Domaine de la Grande Séouve, where precision, scale, and consistency are paramount, while maintaining the character of its provenance. What sets this rosé apart is the combination of altitude, cool nights, and tightly controlled vinification, which allows the style to remain clear and pure, even in a warm year like 2024.
Vineyards and region
The grapes come from France, from Provence, within the Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence appellation. The vineyards are situated on a plateau at an altitude of approximately 400 meters, an exceptional location for Provence. This altitude, with over three hundred sunny days per year and significant temperature fluctuations between day and night, allows the grapes to ripen evenly and retain their freshness. The estate covers approximately 75 hectares of contiguous vineyards, allowing it to work entirely with its own fruit and to carefully control the style of Aix-en-Provence year after year.
Vinification and maturation
Vinification focuses on purity and freshness. Approximately 30% of the wine is made as rosé de saignée, where brief skin contact adds structure and aromatic intensity. The remaining 70% is pressed directly to maintain the wine's lightness and refinement. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures between 14°C and 16°C in stainless steel tanks. No wood is used, allowing the fruit and fresh style to take center stage.
Grape composition
Cinsault – Provence
Cinsault provides finesse, freshness and a light structure.
Grenache Noir – Provence
Grenache Noir adds ripe red fruit and roundness.
Syrah – Provence
Syrah brings aromatic tension and a subtle spiciness to the blend.
Tasting notes and serving suggestions
The color is a clear, light salmon pink. The nose reveals refined aromas of flowers, watermelon, and strawberry. On the palate, the wine is lively and pure, with juicy red fruit and a fresh, light body. The structure remains supple and drinkable, without being sharp or heavy. The finish is fresh and elegant. Serve this rosé preferably at 8–10°C. It pairs well as an aperitif and with light dishes, salads, and summer meals.
