For lovers of delicious, refreshing wines, Alturis has created this beautiful Sauvignon Blanc. Not far from the Austrian and Slovenian borders, in northeastern Italy, we find Alturis. The estate owes its beautiful name to the elevated vineyards in the area, also known as Alturis. Because the estate is surrounded by Alturis vineyards, on which the magnificent "Alturis" vineyards are planted, this name was a natural fit. Owners Marco and Massimo Zorzettig come from a family that has been active in the wine industry for over three generations. This gives them invaluable knowledge of crafting the finest wines, and you can certainly taste it!
Harvesting in the early morning
A beautiful place in Italy that's definitely worth a visit. Thanks to its unique microclimate, the Sauvignon Blanc grapes for this white wine grow in perfect harmony. The adjacent mountains, combined with the Adriatic breeze, create this perfect microclimate. The grapes for this Italian white wine are harvested manually in September. This harvest takes place early in the morning under the strict supervision of Marco and Massimo Zorzettig. This rigorous selection process ensures that only the finest and most beautiful grapes are used in the wine. By harvesting in the early morning, the Sauvignon Blanc grapes retain their fresh character, which is certainly evident in this Alturis Sauvignon. Once the grapes arrive at the Alturis winery, the gentle pressing takes place. After pressing, the wine is aged on the lees under controlled temperatures.
Fresh, lively white wine
Alturis Sauvignon is a very elegant white wine from Friuli, Italy. Its color is bright light yellow with a green sparkle. The aroma is pleasant and not overly vibrant. It releases beautiful aromas of citrus and gooseberry, with a subtle hint of mint. The taste is equally elegant and subtle. The flavors are well-defined but certainly not overpowering. The citrus nuances, along with a touch of pineapple and peach, are pleasantly pronounced. The finish is smooth and very pleasant. A perfect wine to pair with dishes like risotto with green asparagus or whitefish.
